My dear friend from my #LegacyPridePack beamed with delight as I taught her a few things about cultural intelligence. She learned that what she thought were flaws in her behavior are actually cultural norms from her native country of birth. Even though she left her country as a baby, her parents still raised her with their cultural beliefs. Cultural intelligence can teach us so much about why people behave the way they do and what they may find appropriate. Knowing this information can help disarm the judgements we think of about other people. All relationships can benefit from learning the cultures people in our tribe come from.

Todays food for thought: I had an interesting inner awareness thought when I saw something interesting in TheSkimm .....  The acronym was ROL = return on life. My inner economist lit up seeing this in an ad from a bank. Even the bank knows that how and why you spend, waste or save money has a direct impact on how satisfied you are with your life. They even have a phrase for it, ROL! Hard as we may try, we cannot separate emotion from finances. After all, money is an energetic exchange with many emotions attached to it. Ask your inner self - what is my return on life? How do my spending habits impact my positive outlook on life? What do i do on a daily basis that adds to my life's legacy? Like it or not, you create your legacy with each day that passes. Instead of using the New Years holidays to review how life is going, why not check in with yourself weekly to see how your ROL feels to you? See if  are satisfied with the ROL you get from your ROI!
